This is a personal website containing accounts and photos of the longer coastal walks around the south coast of England. You are most welcome to view it. It may be of some use to you. Or it may give you some inspiration to do some long distance walking. I can thoroughly recommend the health benefits of walking. It doesn't need to be long distance though; regular walking will do.
This site was originally called South West Coast Paths (swcp.uk) but was renamed and became Southern England Coast Paths (secp.uk) when I started to include the southeast coast in my walks.
Coastal walks so far: (map below)
The South West Coast Path (SWCP) from Minehead in Somerset to South Haven Point in Dorset (630 miles) over 5 years in sections of between 70 and 150 miles at a time plus a few shorter walks near the end.
The Dorset section of the SWCP walked in the opposite direction from South Haven Point to Lyme Regis (89 miles) and then the East and South Devon section of the SWCP from Lyme Regis to Plymouth (123 miles).
The Tamara Coast to Coast Way (87 miles) from Plymouth on the south coast to Marsland Mouth on the Atlantic coast.
The Somerset section of the England Coast Path from Weston Super Mare to the starting point of the SWCP at Minehead in Somerset (70 miles).
The coast from the Hampshire/Dorset border to the end point of the SWCP at South Haven Point in Dorset (18 miles).
The coast path from the Dorset/Hampshire border to Milford on Sea in Hampshire and then The Solent Way from Milford on Sea to the Hampshire/West Sussex border near Emsworth (60 miles).
The England Coast Path from near the Hampshire/West Sussex border at West Wittering to Brighton at the other end of West Sussex (50 miles).
My next walk with be along the coast of East Sussex along the England Coast Path.
I am now approaching my late seventies and in very good health and I am sure that regular walking has contributed greatly to my mental and physical well being.
Nowadays I don't walk as fast as I used to and I don't have the stamina that I once had, but taking it easy allows me to take more notice of my surroundings when I am walking. For me, everyday life is left behind as I walk in the countryside or along the coast
